Hope is the feeling that things will somehow get better, that they will somehow work out.

South Africa finds itself experiencing unprecedented financial challenges mostly due to the protracted nature of the Covid-19 pandemic. Private schools are now facing decreasing pupil numbers and an increase in unpaid school fees. Unfortunately, Michael Mount is no exception.

As a Waldorf Community, we are called upon to embrace these challenges and it is in this light that we plan to establish a Community Bursary Fund. This Fund aims to support the Michael Mount Waldorf School and its families who experience sudden and temporary financial difficulties. As part of this community, we call upon everyone, including Michael Mount Waldorf School Alumni to help us in establishing this vital resource. Whilst the School has some limited financial reserves, it is not blessed with endowments from past pupils or similar foundations. The Council of Management hopes that this fund will bring stability in these unusual and trying times.

The fund aims to support established and committed Waldorf families who are experiencing financial difficulties.

We are confident that a well-managed, constantly replenished reservoir of funds will ensure that families continue to benefit from the wonderful advantages of Waldorf education at Michael Mount well into the future.

Your help can turn hope into a reality no matter how small your contribution.
